@ghanaianforum has sighted a list indicating that players of the Ghana senior national team took 20,000 dollars as appearance fee at the 2019 African Cup of Nations (AFCON 2019) in Egypt and not 80,000 dollars as earlier speculated.

The Minister of Youth and Sports, Isaac Asiamah, while explaining the Black Stars' 4.6 million dollars expenditure at the AFCON tournament, failed to disclose what players received as appearance fees.

Originally, the Ministry had budgeted an amount of 6.3 million dollars for the one-month tournament but spent only 4.6 million dollars after exiting in the round of 16 stage. Part of this 4.6 million dollars, it had been speculated, was used to pay an appearance fee of 80,000 dollars each to the players.

But the leaked list as sighted by @GhanaianForum shows players, at least many of them, were given 20,000 dollars as appearance.

The list has 15 players out of the 23 playing staff signing and confirming the receipt of the 20,000 fees. Among the names who supposedly took 20,000 dollars as sighted were the team captain Andre Ayew, his deputy John Boye, Kwadwo Asamoah, Jordan Ayew, and Mubarak Wakaso. Others were Jonathan Mensah, Baba Rahman, keepers Richard Ofori, Lawrence Ati Zigi, and Felix Annan.

The rest were Thomas Partey, Joseph Attamah, Joseph Aidoo, Kasim Nuhu Adams, and Thomas Agyepong.

It is no known if the other eight players took more than 20,000 dollars but from what we gathered it cannot be the case
