- Sarkodie is the most decorated Ghanaian rapper Renowned rapper, Michael Owusu Addo, popularly known in showbiz as Sarkodie, has finally reacted to Medikal’s claim that he saved Ghana’s rap.

Sarkodie has stated that he sees nothing wrong with Medikal claiming he saved Ghana’s rap from dying some four years ago.

According to the Tema-based musician, every rapper can pride himself or herself as the best, hence it’s not a big issue for Medikal to make such claims.

The BET Award-winner said Medikal didn’t mean to disrespect anyone like many industry players perceived it to be. “He genuinely feels that and he has to be able to say what he feels. He expressed it. He wasn’t disrespecting anyone.

When I am rapping and I say I am the best, I don’t think about Obrafour even though [he is champion.] “I don’t think he’s trying to go at anyone but as a rapper you are supposed to feel like that,” Sarkodie said in an interview 4 Syte TV.

Medikal dominated the headlines with his declaration that he saved Ghana’s rap four years ago. However, his statement drew the attention of Sarkodie’s former protégé, Strongman as he replied Medikal.

Strongman’s reply brought a lot of fuss and Medikal recorded a diss song To Whom It May Concern targeted at the former.

Strongman hit back with his own diss song Don’t Try. It didn’t end there as Medikal recorded the Last Burial.

Medikal’s Last Burial song angered Strongman as he recorded Immortal. Later, the two rappers smoked peace pipe.
